Fundraising Weekend For the Copeland Tragedy
21st – 22nd August
The Steve Prescott Foundation in association with Engage Mutual are teaming up with top amateur Rugby League side Wath Brow Hornets to raise money for the families of the recent Cumbrian Shootings.
Martin Blondel Secretary of the Steve Prescott Foundation said “Rugby League is such a focal part of the Whitehaven Community. When our friends from Wath Brow Hornets approached us to take part in the Weekend it was easy collating the calibre of great ex players to help raise money for the tragedy, it shows how the RL Community pull together in times of crisis.”
The Weekend will start off with a Sportsman’s Dinner on Saturday 21st August, this will be hosted by Karl Kirkpatrick and Special Guests will be the Sky Sports Trio of Barrie Mc Dermott, Brian Carney & Terry O’Connor. The Audience will also include ex Super league Stars Andy Gregory, Chris Joynt, Tommy Martyn, Paul Sculthorpe, Gary Schofield to name a few.
It will definitely be a Rugby League Connoisseurs night to remember.
Present day Super league players Lee Briers, Sam Tomkins, Richard Horne and Adrian Morley have donated their boots to the boost the fundraising.
This Event was sold out before the tickets were even printed.
The Following Day On Sunday 22nd Wath Brow Hornets will take on the Steve Prescott Foundation Legends of Rugby League who are taking part in a full match extravaganza.
All the proceeds will go to the Copeland Tragedy Fund.
